Nestled among 2 hundred-year-old pecan and magnolia trees is our ranch-style guest home, with 9 queens beds and 4 baths, on 2+ acres. We are only 4 miles from downtown McKinney, 30 miles from downtown Dallas. DAL is 30 miles & DFW 36 miles. All new Serta Mattresses from Macy's. Everyone will get a good night's rest. There is a pool about 1 1/2 from the house. If you need more beds, we have another home 700 ft away from Pecan Grove. The Lake House. It has 1 king, 3 queen beds &2 baths.
The space
Pecan Grove is a full-time guest home. It sits on 2+ acres surrounded by Pecan, Magnolia, and Crepe Myrtle trees. There are 7 bedrooms (9 queen beds) and 4 baths. The hall bath is handicap accessible. One of the bathrooms has a 65 jetted tub. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you will need to feed a large group. There is plenty of room for socializing inside and outside. The great room brings large groups together in one place; the kitchen is the heart of the activities. Outside there is a deck that is 40 x 35, with lighting. There are no close neighbors. Next door is a landscaping business, and they are closed on weekends. You may play music outside and not bother anyone.
In 1972 I made my first trip out of the United States to Paris, France. Since that time, I’ve been to over 57 countries. I have returned from Cuba. Believe me when I say Heaven is on earth right here where we are. I love to travel, but there is no place like home.
No matter where in the world I would be, I would never be ready to leave it. I always felt like I was unfaithful to my home, in Texas, when I would yearn to stay longer.
I solved that problem by returning to some of my favorite countries at least one more time and sometimes more.
Now I am hosting. I’ve taken all the things I could think of that are essential to me when I travel and have implemented them in the Pecan Grove.
I have declared myself the Leona Helmsley (Helmsley Palace of New York) of Melissa, Texas. Of course, this is a joke, but not totally.
Sleeping is vital. When you sleep is when your brain and body heal. All the sheets and towels are 100% cotton.
After my first in the ’70s to France, I became obsessed with third world countries. I made two trips to India and stayed six weeks each time. I visited the city where Krishna was born and sleep on the ground, like a camper.
Today, camping, to me, is “slow room service.”
Pecan Grove, named appropriately because the ranch house is nestled and surrounded by 200-year-old Pecan and Magnolia trees. The gourmet kitchen is enormous and has at least one of everything one could think of that you would want to use while cooking. It has rice cookers, bread machines, and other gadgets, some you may wonder what they do. I even brought over a beautiful set of china for 12.
If you need more beds, we have another home 700 ft away from Pecan Grove. The Lake House. It has 4 bedrooms, one King bed, 3 queens and 1 twin and 2 baths. You have to drive around the corner to it. It is close.
Guest access
There is plenty of parking for 20+ cars, use of the entire house, one new washer, the largest that is made and has a special place to wash baby clothes and a dryer. The house is approximately 3,500 sq feet on one level, and the deck is 40 feet x 35 feet with3 different sets of outdoor lighting.

Michelle Taylor is a Doctor Of Medicine (Traditional Medicine) who graduated from The Open International University for Complementary Medicines and Medicina Alternativa Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Certificate Approved by the United States Licensing Authority. She also is a fully licensed and ordained minister who graduated from The Cathedral of Light Center for Spiritual Truth, The Leadership School of Ministry. Previously, Dr. Taylor was with the Chicago Board of Trade, as a fully licensed commodity broker, and National Associations of Securities Dealers, (NASD) Series 24, Series 7 and Series 63.
